In 2015, 10 Member States of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), including Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Viet Nam, endorsed the ASEAN Community Vision 2025, a roadmap for a more peaceful, stable region where people enjoy human rights and a higher quality of life, and the benefits of community building. ASEAN Community Vision 2025 complements the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by promoting sustainable socio-economic development, and responding to environmental threats in order to improve the living standards of peoples of Southeast Asia.
